Oakdale, CA – A Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office deputy, another adult, and a juvenile were injured Tuesday evening following a traffic collision at Yosemite Avenue and E Street, according to the Oakdale Police Department.
The crash occurred at approximately 5:45 p.m., December 6, at the intersection, which does not have stop signs or dedicated left-turn lanes for traffic on Yosemite Avenue.
Investigators said the deputy was traveling northbound on Yosemite Avenue when a vehicle traveling southbound attempted a left turn onto E Street, turning into the deputy’s path and causing the collision.
Emergency responders found three injured individuals at the scene. The deputy and the adult occupant of the other vehicle were transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries. A juvenile, whose age was not released, was airlifted to a hospital with minor to moderate injuries, according to the Modesto Fire Department.
The crash remains under investigation by the Oakdale Police Department Traffic Unit as officers continue to gather evidence and determine contributing factors.
