Man Dies in Sacramento Bike Crash on 12th and C Streets

Sacramento, CA – A vehicle collision with a bicycle rider at an intersection near the Mansion Flats neighborhood of Sacramento led to the death of a man on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Sacramento Police Department, the wreck took place at 12th and C streets shortly before 3 p.m. March 10.

A preliminary investigation shows that a vehicle struck a man riding a bike at the intersection. Details on what led up to the accident were not immediately available.

Police and emergency crews responded to the scene and attended to the injured rider.

The bicyclist was then rushed to a hospital but he later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The man’s name and age were not available in the police report.

The driver reportedly stayed at the site of the collision and cooperated with law enforcement.

Whether impairment or speed were factors in the collision was not specified. There were no arrests announced in regards to the collision.

The crash led to the closure of the 12th and C streets intersection as authorities investigated the incident. There was no update on how long the closure would last.

The Sacramento Police Department is still investigating to determine how and why the accident occurred.
