Sacramento, CA – Authorities are investigating an accident that left a bicyclist dead on Friday night in Sacramento.
According to the Sacramento Police Department, the accident was reported at around 8 p.m. April 17, in the 2900 block of Del Paso Road near E Commerce Way.
A preliminary investigation determined that an adult male bicyclist was traveling in the area when he was struck by a vehicle.
Sacramento Police and the Sacramento Fire Department responded to the scene immediately after receiving reports of the accident.
Medics pronounced the bicyclist deceased at the scene. The victim’s identity will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once his next of kin has been notified.
The driver of the involved vehicle stayed at the scene after the crash and cooperated with the investigators.
The Sacramento Police Department is conducting an investigation to establish the exact cause of the collision.
