Sacramento, CA – At least two people were injured in a four-vehicle crash on the Auburn Boulevard in North Sacramento early Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported at approximately 3:54 a.m. on Monday at the Auburn Boulevard on-ramp to SR-51 South, near the transition toward westbound Interstate 80.
Preliminary information indicates that several vehicles collided after encountering large flooding on the on-ramp. A blue Dodge Ram pickup truck was reported blocking the on-ramp, while a blue Toyota 4Runner and at least two other vehicles were also involved. The roadway conditions reportedly caused vehicles to stop abruptly, leading to a chain-reaction crash. The on-ramp was described as flooded, creating an immediate traffic hazard.
Sacramento Fire personnel responded to the scene and transported at least two injured parties to Mercy San Juan Medical Center. One patient was taken with complaints of leg pain, while another was transported with complaints of chest pain. The total number of injured individuals was not fully disclosed. No arrests were reported in connection with the incident.
The cause of the Sacramento crash remains under investigation, though early reports suggest roadway flooding played a significant role in the collision sequence.
CHP officers and Sacramento Fire crews worked to manage the scene, assess injuries, and coordinate vehicle removal. Multiple tow trucks were requested due to the number of disabled vehicles involved.
The crash led to vehicles backing up along the on-ramp to southbound SR-51, causing temporary traffic congestion in the area during the early morning commute hours.
The incident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
