Riverside County, CA – One person died in a motorcycle accident that happened Monday afternoon in Homeland, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Around 4:22 p.m. on July 27, a motorcycle and a silver minivan collided near the 31581 block of McWade Avenue.

Police officers and firefighters responded to the scene shortly after the collision.

One person was killed in the collision, CHP reported.

A handgun whose owner was not immediately established was found at the scene, but there was no safety threat.

The motorcycle was towed away from the scene.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
