Salinas, CA.- Rickey Leneer Smith, 69, of Salinas, was killed in an auto-pedestrian accident in Salinas on Saturday night, according to the Monterey County Sheriff's Office.
The incident took place on North Main near Rossi Street at about 8:47 p.m. March 1.
Authorities reported that Smith was trying to cross the street when he was struck by a vehicle.
Smith died of injuries sustained in the accident.
The involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The accident is under investigation.
