Mesa, AZ – The Arizona Department of Public Safety has identified an elderly man who was hit and killed by a vehicle at a Mesa intersection last week as Richard Chamblin, 81.
The deadly pedestrian accident occurred at about at about 9:30 a.m. on Friday, April at 76th Street and McDowell Road.
DPS said Chamblin was crossing north Ridgecrest from the east to west when he stepped into the path of a vehicle.
Chamblin was struck and was pronounced dead at the scene

Mesa, AZ – An elderly man was fatally injured in a pedestrian accident Friday morning on 76th Street in East Valley.
The Mesa Police Department responded to the incident at about 9:30 a.m. in the area of 76th Street and McDowell Road, east of the Loop 202 Freeway.
The man was struck by a car for unknown reasons.
He was declared deceased at the crash site.
The name of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.
The accident remains under investigation.
