According to the Redding Police Department, the woman was crossing Lake Boulevard outside of a marked crosswalk and wearing dark clothing when she was hit by a 2007 Chrysler van traveling eastbound.

Redding, CA – A woman was struck by two vehicles and killed Tuesday night on Lake Boulevard in Redding, police reported.
The incident took place around 11:19 p.m. on July 21 near Clay Street.
According to the Redding Police Department, the woman was crossing Lake Boulevard outside of a marked crosswalk and wearing dark clothing when she was hit by a 2007 Chrysler van traveling eastbound.
The driver and passengers in the van exited the vehicle to help the victim. At that time, the pedestrian was again run over by a 1977 Chevrolet pickup truck that was also traveling eastbound on Lake Boulevard. The driver of the pickup truck told authorities that they did not see the woman in the roadway before hitting her.
The woman died from her injuries.
Authorities do not believe impairment was a contributing factor.
Redding police and officers are investigating the collision.
