Authorities Investigating Deadly Big Rig Crash on State Highway 99W in Red Bluff

Red Bluff, CA – One person died in a traffic collision involving an SUV and a big rig Thursday afternoon in Red Bluff, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The crash was reported on State Highway 99W at the entrance of Friendly Acres Mobile Home Park at around 5:45 p.m. on June 4, 2026.

According to CHP, a Toyota Highlander and a big rig were involved in the accident. One of the vehicles caught fire after the collision.  The fire was extinguished shortly after the crash.

The Red Bluff Police Department and Cal Fire responded to the scene.

One person died in the collision, prompting the Tehama County Coroner’s Office to respond to the scene.

It was unclear if any other person was injured.

Investigators closed State Highway 99W in both directions as they worked the scene.
