Pismo Beach, CA – An elderly man is dead after being involved in an auto-pedestrian crash at a parking lot in Pismo Beach on Thursday morning.
According to the Pismo Beach Police Department, the incident took place at Med Plus located in the 800 block of Oak Park Boulevard at about 10:15 a.m. on April 16.
Investigators reported that an 88-year-old man was hit by a car at the parking lot. The circumstances under which the pedestrian was hit were not yet established.
Medical personnel from Med Plus performed CPR on the injured pedestrian prior to the arrival of the emergency crews.
The victim was declared deceased before arriving at the hospital. The victim’s name was not released in the Pismo Beach police report.
Investigators revealed that alcohol and drugs were not factors in the accident. The driver of the involved car stayed at the scene and was cooperative with law enforcement.
Authorities have not released additional details on the incident. The Pismo Beach Police Department is conducting an ongoing investigation to determine the exact cause of the deadly crash.
