Phoenix, AZ – A woman riding an electric scooter died after colliding with a vehicle Wednesday morning in south Phoenix, according to a police report.

Phoenix police officers responded to the area and found a woman suffering from critical injuries following the crash. The woman, whose name has not been released, was transported to a hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries, authorities said.
Investigators said the woman had been operating an electric scooter when she reportedly lost control of its speed and collided with a vehicle that was entering a private driveway.
Police said the driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Authorities also noted that the motorist did not show signs of impairment.
The collision remains under investigation by the Phoenix Police Department.
