Phoenix, CA– Authorities are conducting an investigation into a rollover collision that left three people, including a Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office deputy, hospitalized on Friday morning in north Phoenix.

According to the MCSO, the rollover accident happened at about 6 a.m. on July 31, on Interstate 17 near New River Road.

According to the investigators, a marked MCSO vehicle collided with another vehicle on the interstate under unclear circumstances. The impact caused the second vehicle to roll over and it came to a rest on its roof.

A deputy in the MCSO vehicle was transported to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Two other occupants of the second vehicle were also taken to hospitals as a precaution.

No additional details on the accident were immediately available. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
