Hood River County, OR – One person was killed in a three-vehicle collision in Hood River County Wednesday night, according to the Oregon State Police.

The deadly crash occurred around 9:23 p.m. on October 15 on Highway 281 near milepost 7.

According to OSP, a Subaru Impreza, operated by Pedro Jonathan Flores-Flores (26) of Hood River, was traveling southbound and attempted to pass a southbound Toyota Corolla, in a no-passing zone, but collied head-on with a northbound Honda VT750 motorcycle operated by Phillip Mickey Himes, 37, of Hood River.

The motorcyclist, Philip Himes, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Toyota driver was not injured in the accident.

The Subaru driver, Pedro, was not injured and was arrested for DUII, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangering, and Manslaughter.

The highway was shut down for about five hours due to the incident.

The crash remains under investigation.
