Petaluma, CA – One person was injured in an accident involving a scooter rider and a pedestrian in Petaluma on Wednesday morning.
According to the Petaluma Police Department, the incident took place along North McDowell Boulevard at around 9:54 a.m. April 8.
Authorities reported that a 61-year-old man was riding on an e-scooter on the wrong side along the sidewalk when he collided with a pedestrian.
Petaluma police reported that an on-duty Department volunteer was passing through the area and rendered aid to the scooter rider.
Police and medical personnel arrived shortly after and transported the scooter rider to a hospital. The rider was not wearing a helmet and was hospitalized with a head injury.
The involved pedestrian was not injured in the accident. The names of the involved parties were not released by the authorities.
There were no reports of any charges in connection with the incident.
The Petaluma Police Department is still investigating the accident.
