Modesto, CA. — Authorities are investigating a fatal crash that happened early Friday morning when a person was struck and killed by a car on Paradise Road near Leon Avenue, according to the Modesto Police Department.
First responders were called to the area shortly before 12:30 a.m.
When officers and medics arrived, they attempted life-saving efforts on the pedestrian, but the individual died at the scene.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
Police say the driver involved remained at the site of the collision and is cooperating with investigators.
At this time, officers report that neither alcohol nor drugs were factors in the crash.
