Mountain View, CA.- A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run collision that took place in Mountain View on Sunday morning, according to the Mountain View Police Department.

The incident happened on Amphitheater Parkway and Joaquin Road at about 7:15 a.m. January 19.

According to the report, police responded to the scene and located a seriously injured man in the roadway.

The victim had reportedly been struck by a vehicle that left the scene before authorities arrived.

The Mountain View Fire Department transported the victim to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Police located the suspect a short distance from the site of the collision.

The suspect, Erick Barrios, 42, of Campbell, was booked into the Santa Clara Main Jail on charges of murder, DUI, and hit-and-run with injury.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
