According to a preliminary investigation, a vehicle struck a transformer for unknown reasons. The transformer then hit a pedestrian walking on the side of the Road.

San Diego, CA. – A pedestrian was killed in an accident Sunday night on Interstate 5 in San Diego.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the wreck was reported at around 9:08 p.m. on Interstate 5 at Imperial Avenue.

According to a preliminary investigation, a vehicle struck a transformer for unknown reasons. The transformer then hit a pedestrian walking on the side of the Road.

The victim was declared deceased at the scene. The car’s driver suffered serious injuries.

The identity of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.
