Imperial, CA. – A man died after being struck by a car early Thursday morning in in Imperial.
According to Imperial Police Department, the accident happened around 12:30 a.m. on the southbound lanes of State Route (SR) 86, north of Aten Road.
41-year-old Ruben Camargo was traveling southbound on SR 86 when he was hit by a GMC Sierra
Officers immediately performed life-saving measures on the man before being taken to El Centro Regional Medical Center and later airlifted to UC San Diego Hillcrest Medical Center, where he later died.
The driver of the GMC remained on scene and cooperated with the police.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
