Fullerton, CA.- A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle in Fullerton on Sunday evening, the Fullerton Police Department reported.

The incident was reported at around 6:43 p.m. November 23, on S. Gilbert Street and W. Orangethorpe Avenue.

According to the police, a white Toyota Prius was traveling southbound on S. Gilbert Street when it tried to make a turn onto W. Orangethorpe Avenue and hit a pedestrian pushing a wheelchair northbound in a crosswalk.

The pedestrian was taken to a hospital, where he was later declared deceased.

The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

The Fullerton Police Department is conducting an investigation into the incident.
