Los Angeles, CA.- A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle in Downtown Los Angeles on Saturday morning, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The incident took place on the 110 Freeway at West Third Street at about 6:34 a.m.
According to the report, a pedestrian was struck on the southbound side of freeway under unclear circumstances.
The victim, aged nearly 40, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, a 47-year-old man, was taken to a hospital and was said to be in stable condition.
A passenger in the vehicle declined medication.
The southbound side of the freeway was shut down as authorities investigated the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
