Vail, AZ.- A pedestrian was hit and killed by a tractor trailer in Vail early Wednesday morning, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The accident happened at around 5:04 a.m. on Interstate 10 and Marsh Station Road.
According to AZDPS, the big rig struck the pedestrian on the westbound onramp under unclear circumstances.
The victim, who was not immediately identified, was killed in the crash.
The identities of the involved parties were not immediately released.
The roadway was closed in the area as authorities investigated the incident.
An investigation into the collision is underway.
