Petaluma, CA – A pedestrian died after being struck by a car Monday evening near an intersection in Petaluma, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The collision was reported around 8:21 p.m. near Thompson Lane and Skillman Lane.
First responders found the pedestrian down and unresponsive on the right-hand shoulder.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:29 p.m.
Authorities did not immediately determine the cause and manner of the collision, but the reporting party informed them that the pedestrian ran across the roadway and the motorist clipped him.
An investigation is ongoing.
