Indio, CA.- A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle on Saturday afternoon in Indio, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident took place on Interstate 10 near the Monroe Street onramp just after noon.
According to the report, a man was walking south across the onramp when he was hit by a GMC Sierra that was turning onto the onramp from Monroe Street.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The accident is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
