According to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Department, a Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit train traveling southbound struck a pedestrian on the train tracks

Santa Rosa, CA.- A pedestrian was hit and killed by a train near Santa Rosa on Wednesday morning, according to the authorities.
The incident took place near West Robles Avenue at around 11:08 a.m.
According to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Department, a Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit train traveling southbound struck a pedestrian on the train tracks.
The victim was declared dead at the scene.
The two crew members and 45 passengers on the train were not hurt.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
