Northridge, CA.- A was hit and injured by an Amtrak train in Northridge on Sunday morning, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department officials.

The incident took place at 8875 N. Tampa Avenue just before 8:07 a.m.

A man was walking in the area when a train carrying 185 passengers struck him.

The events leading up to the accident were not immediately established.

The man was rushed to a hospital in unknown condition.

The passengers on the train were evaluated by emergecy crews and none of them was found to have been injured.

The train operation was halted as authorities investigated the incident
