Baypoint, CA. – A pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle early Saturday morning on a highway in Baypoint, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The accident was reported around 12:49 a.m. on eastbound Highway 4, just west of the Bailey Road off-ramp.
A pedestrian was reportedly walking on the right-hand shoulder of the highway against traffic when they were hit by a car.
The pedestrian died in the crash.
The Contra Costa County Sheriff's Department's Coroner Division responded to the scene following the fatal accident.
According to CHP, a separate crash involving a single car also happened in the area. The collision resulted in property damage only.
