At around 2:45 a.m., California Highway Patrol officers responded to the southbound 280 Freeway near Highway 87 after they were informed about a pedestrian accident.

San Jose, CA. – A female pedestrian died after being struck by a car early Sunday morning in San Jose, authorities reported.
At around 2:45 a.m., California Highway Patrol officers responded to the southbound 280 Freeway near Highway 87 after they were informed about a pedestrian accident.
The officers found a female pedestrian suffering from major injuries. The victim was rushed to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 3:26 a.m.
An initial investigation revealed that a Toyota Corolla was traveling at approximately 65 mph in the far right lane when the pedestrian walked into the roadway.
The driver of the car stopped and remained at the scene after the accident.
