Tucson, AZ.- Patricia Smith, 87, died days after being involved in a traffic accident in Tucson early last month, according to the Tucson Police Department.

The incident took place in the 500 block of North Wilmot Road on March 4.

According to the report, Smith was driving southbound on Wilmot Road when she tried to turn left into a parking lot and collided with a northbound vehicle driven by a 43-year-old man.

Smith was taken to a hospital for treatment and on Monday, March 31, authorities reported that she had succumbed to her injuries.

Impairment was not suspected to have played a role in the accident.

The investigation is ongoing.
