Pasadena, CA – The pedestrian who was hit and killed by a vehicle on the 210 Freeway in Pasadena on Sunday night has been identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Richard Owens, 45, was killed in the accident that took place at around 9:31 p.m. April 12, on the eastbound freeway near Madre Street.
According to investigators, Owens was reportedly running across the eastbound lanes of the freeway when he was struck by at least one vehicle.
The Pasadena Fire Department crews responded to the incident and Owens was declared deceased at the scene.
Details on the involved motorists were not immediately released.
The accident caused a closure of the eastbound lanes of the freeway for hours as authorities examined and cleared the scene.
