Palo Alto, CA – A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run collision on a Highway 101 on-ramp in Palo Alto early Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash took place at around 5 a.m. January 25, on the Embarcadero Road on-ramp to southbound US 101.
According to the authorities, a driver fled the scene after striking a pedestrian on the on-ramp. Details on what led up to the accident were not immediately released.
The California Highway Patrol officers and fire crews responded to the scene of the crash at around 5:48 a.m.
The victim was declared deceased at the site of the accident. There was no update on the identity of the deceased pedestrian.
The CHP report indicates that the suspect was operating a vehicle believed to be a Chevrolet Silverado. The vehicle may have damage to its hood, front bumper, and grill following the crash.
