Preliminary reports by the California Highway Patrol indicate that a pedestrian was hit by a white Hyundai Genesis in the area. The circumstances of the collision were still undetermined.

Palmdale, CA – The pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle on Friday evening in Palmdale has been identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The deadly crash was reported at around 7 p.m. on October 9, in the 40836 block of 20th Street West.
Preliminary reports by the California Highway Patrol indicate that a pedestrian was hit by a white Hyundai Genesis in the area. The circumstances of the collision were still undetermined.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene and the pedestrian was declared deceased shortly after.
The medical examiner identified the pedestrian as Concepcion Atkins, 77.
The crash led to the closure of both directions of 20th Street West for over five hours as authorities investigated the collision.
The CHP is still working to determine the cause of the collision.
