Palm Springs, CA – An elderly woman was killed in an accident between two vehicles near Palm Springs Airport on Sunday afternoon, the Palm Springs Police Department reported.
Authorities responded to reports of the collision on South El Cielo Road and Kirk Douglas Way on Sunday, December 28.
According to investigators, a Honda was traveling northbound when the driver made a left turn to travel east and entered the path of a northbound vehicle. The northbound vehicle, a Mazda, was unable to slow down in time and crashed into the Honda.
The driver of the Honda was rushed to a hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased. Palm Springs police said the victim was a 93-year-old woman.
There was no update on the condition of the other drivers or whether they had any passengers.
The Palm Springs Police Department is still working to find out what caused the crash.
