Palm Beach Gardens, CA – Authorities are conducting an investigation into a deadly multi-vehicle collision that claimed the life of a 92-year-old man in Palm Beach Gardens on Sunday.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, the wreck took place near Alt. A1A and Atlantic Road on Sunday, March 8.
Investigations revealed that a 2017 Toyota RAV4 was traveling in the southbound left turn lane on Alt. A1A when it tried to turn at Atlantic Road. The Toyota entered the path of a 2014 Dodge Charger that was traveling northbound on Alt. A1A and was struck on the passenger side by the Dodge.
Another vehicle, a 2016 Kia Soul, was also heading north and hit the passenger side of the Dodge. The three vehicles came to a rest on the sidewalk after the collision.
The PBCSO reported that the 92-year-old woman driving the Toyota and her passenger were both taken to Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center with major injuries.
The passenger was later declared deceased at 7:56 p.m. at the hospital. He was identified as Hans Homburger, 92.
It’s unclear whether anyone else was hurt in the crash or needed to be transported to hospital as well.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the deadly collision.
