6-Year-Old Boy Dies in Pacific Beach Crash on Pacific Beach Drive

Pacific Beach, CA – A 6-year-old boy was killed in a hit-and-run collision in Pacific Beach on Saturday afternoon, according to the San Diego Police Department.

The incident was reported at around 3:45 p.m. January 17, in the 1500 block of Pacific Beach Drive near Ingraham Street.

According to police, the boy was on a bike crossing an alley when he was hit by a vehicle traveling through the alley. The driver stopped at the scene briefly, but then took off after hitting the boy a second time.

San Diego police and firefighters arrived shortly after and the child was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared deceased. The child’s name was not immediately released.

A 32-year-old woman was identified as the suspect who fled the scene of the accident. The suspect’s vehicle was located in National City and the woman was taken into custody.

The data indicates that certain age groups, specifically younger adults (20-29 years) and older adults (80+ years), are more frequently involved in crashes, often due to inexperience or age-related factors like slower reaction times.
