According to investigators, a 53-year-old man was trying to walk across Otay Mesa Road from the north side to the south when he was hit by a Kia Sportage that was heading west.
Otay Mesa, CA – A pedestrian was transported to a hospital with major injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Otay Mesa on Thursday afternoon, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The collision occurred in the 6300 block of Otay Mesa Road at about 12:50 p.m. on July 9.
According to investigators, a 53-year-old man was trying to walk across Otay Mesa Road from the north side to the south when he was hit by a Kia Sportage that was heading west.
The victim was rushed to a hospital with multiple pelvic fractures. The driver of the Kia was not injured and remained at the scene.
According to police, the involved motorist stayed at the scene after the collision. DUI was not suspected to have played a role in the incident.
