San Diego, CA – A 37-year-old woman was hospitalized with serious injuries after being run over by a vehicle Friday night while she was allegedly lying in an adult bookstore parking lot in Kearny Mesa, the San Diego Police Department reported.
The incident was reported around 10:45 p.m. on September 11, 2026, at the Mercury Bookstore parking lot near Balboa Avenue and Mercury Street.
According to authorities, a 26-year-old man in a 2014 Honda Accord was driving away when he ran over a 37-year-old woman who was reportedly lying on the ground. The driver felt the impact and backed up. He discovered the pedestrian on the ground.
Paramedics transported the patient to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries, including a fractured sacrum and humerus.
SDPD’s Traffic Division is investigating the accident.
