According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just before 6 p.m. on State Route 76, just east of Nate Harrison Grade.
Authorities said a white semi-truck and a red Chevrolet SUV were involved in the collision.
One person was seriously injured in the crash. Emergency personnel transported the victim to Palomar Medical Center for treatment.
The report said impairment was a factor in the accident but did not give more details.
