The driver of an eastbound car veered into the westbound lane on a curve and hit a semi-truck head-on

Lewiston Big Rig AccidentTrinity County, Calif. – One person was injured in a big rig accident that happened Monday afternoon on a highway in Lewiston, the California Highway Patrol said.

The collision took place around 4:43 p.m. on eastbound State Route 299 near Trinity Dam Boulevard.

CHP said the driver of a car was eastbound on the highway when they veered into the westbound lane on a curve and hit a westbound semi-truck head-on at the wheels.

The sole occupant of the car suffered minor injuries. Paramedics responded and offered medical aid to the victim.

The sole occupant of the big rig was not injured.

CHP officers are investigating the collision.
