One Killed, At Least Two Injured in 3-Vehicle Crash on Highway 152 in Santa Clara County

Santa Clara County, Calif. – One person is dead and at least two others are injured following a multi-vehicle traffic collision at a junction in Santa Clara County just minutes into the New Year, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The deadly crash happened at about 12:44 a.m. in the area of State Route 152 and Lovers Lane.

According to the CHP, three vehicles, including a Nissan SUV and a pickup truck, were involved in the crash.

Firefighters and other emergency crews responded to the scene and found two people trapped in the SUV and one other trapped in the pickup. All parties appeared injured.

One person was on the ground and had agonal breathing. The person eventually succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene at about 1:26 a.m. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Tow trucks were requested to the scene to help remove the vehicles.

No additional details regarding the crash were provided.

The incident remains under investigation.
