Nevada County, CA – One person was critically injured, and another suffered minor injuries following a head-on collision on Meadow Lake Road near Nevada City Saturday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The two-vehicle crash was reported at approximately 6:39 p.m. Saturday on Meadow Lake Road near the east end of Bowman Lake, close to the reservoir.
According to emergency dispatch information, the collision involved a Polaris ATV and a Ram pickup truck. Reports indicate that the vehicles collided head-on, leaving two people injured.
One was listed in critical condition and was transported by helicopter to a trauma center. The second person suffered minimal injuries and was transported by ground ambulance to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital.
The collision blocked a lane on Meadow Lake Road, prompting a request for CHP assistance. Emergency crews remained at the scene while the injured were assessed and transported.
The Nevada County crash remains under investigation. Authorities have not released additional information about the circumstances that led to the head-on collision.
