Pierson’s passenger suffered a fractured hip, ruptured spleen and burns throughout his body

Hawthorne, CA – 38-year-old Myeisha Darlene Pierson has been identified as the woman who died in a collision involving a wrong-way driver last month in Hawthorne, according to California Highway Patrol logs.
The accident occurred on the 405 Freeway near Imperial Highway at around 12:49 a.m. July 21.
Investigators reported that a vehicle was traveling south in the northbound lanes of the freeway at 80 mph when it was involved in a collision with at least two other vehicles.
After the crash, one of the vehicles drifted onto the right shoulder of the freeway and burst into flames while the other vehicle came to a rest in the HOV lane.
Myeisha Pierson was pronounced dead at the scene.
