Bakersfield, California (July 22, 2023) – A multi-vehicle collision left at least one person injured on Friday afternoon in Bakersfield, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.

The wreck occurred on Highway 99 and Panama Lane shortly after 2 p.m. July 21.

CHP said nearly six vehicles were involved in the collision on southbound Highway 99.

At least one person was treated by medics who responded to the scene.

The extent injuries sustained in the accident were not specified.

The southbound and northbound lanes were affected in the area as crews worked to clear the scene.

The CHP is investigating to determine the cause of the crash.
