Irvine, CA – One person was killed in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 405 in Irvine early Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The deadly incident occurred at approximately 5:45 a.m. on I-405 South at Bake Parkway.

CHP reports the crash involved multiple vehicles, including a motorcycle.

According to the CHP, it appeared that the rider was struck by multiple vehicles, and the body was in the lanes.

First responders found a semi-truck and a white Dodge truck blocking traffic to prevent other vehicles from hitting the motorcyclist.

The rider was pronounced dead at the scene.

Southbound lanes were temporarily closed while authorities cleared the wreckage and redirected traffic.

The crash remains under investigation.
