Deputies tried to stop the rider around 11:30 p.m. near Highway 111 and Deep Canyon Road on suspicion of a vehicle code violation and DUI, but the motorcyclist sped off.
Rancho Mirage, CA. – A motorcyclist died late Saturday night after leading deputies on a chase that began in Palm Desert and ended in a crash in Rancho Mirage.
Deputies tried to stop the rider around 11:30 p.m. near Highway 111 and Deep Canyon Road on suspicion of a vehicle code violation and DUI, but the motorcyclist sped off.
The chase ended near Country Club Drive and John Sinn Road in Rancho Mirage, where the rider ran a red light and collided with another vehicle.
Paramedics attempted life-saving measures, but to no avail. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene
The other driver was uninjured.
The Riverside County Sheriff's Department is investigating the accident.
