According to the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) records, 2066 people were injured or killed in traffic collisions within Modesto in 2022. This was a slight increase from 2021 when it recorded 1999 victims of auto accidents. DUI played a role in nearly 14% of the accidents while speed was a factor in 8% of the incidents in 2022. Being the largest city in the County, Modesto has some of the most dangerous roads and intersection that have been experiencing traffic crashes.
