Santa Fe Springs, California (August 20, 2023) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle collision that left one person with a head injury on Saturday afternoon in Santa Fe Springs.

The collision occurred at about 4:45 p.m. on August 19 on the southbound 5 Freeway, just north of Valley View Avenue.

Police said two vehicles were involved in the crash.

A female party hit her head and was bleeding due to the accident. It was not immediately known if she was transported to the hospital.

The vehicles were blocking lanes 4 and 5 following the crash.

The cars were towed away from the crash site.

No other details regarding the incident were released.

The incident remains under investigation.
