Phelan, CA.- Injuries were reported in a collision with a big rig in Phelan on Monday night, the California Highway Patrol reported.
At around 9:19 p.m. September 29, authorities responded to calls of a crash on Highway 138, just east of Interstate 15.
A driver in a semi tractor-trailer was trying to make an illegal U-turn when the rig was struck on the side by a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.
The pickup was pinned under the big rig's trailer.
There were reports of minor injuries in the incident.
The number of those hurt and the extent of their injuries were not specified.
Highway 138 was shut down as crews worked to clear the scene.
The CHP is handling the investigation.
