According to police, Dominguez and his mother were in the crosswalk trying to cross the street when Dominguez got hit by a car

Phoenix, AZ.- The child who was struck and killed by a car on Monday evening in central Phoenix has been identified as Miguel Dominguez, 4, according to a report by the Phoenix Police Department.
The incident took place on 36th Street and McDowell Road at around 8 p.m. on Monday, August 18.
According to police, Dominguez and his mother were in the crosswalk trying to cross the street when Dominguez got hit by a car.
Officers responded to the incident and located Dominguez unresponsive at the scene.
Dominguez was taken to a hospital with critical injuries and was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
His mother was not hurt in the crash.
The driver stayed at the scene after the accident.
DUI was not a factor in the incident, police reported.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
