Mesa, CA – Minor Injuries Reported in Multi-Vehicle Accident on Loop 202

According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, the pileup took place around 4 p.m. on September 22, 2026, on the southbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) near Elliot Road.

Mesa, CA – Minor injuries were reported in a multi-vehicle accident that happened Tuesday afternoon north of Mesa Gateway Airport.

According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, the pileup took place around 4 p.m. on September 22, 2026, on the southbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) near Elliot Road.

Four vehicles were involved in the accident. One of the cars caught fire after the collision. Firefighters responded to the scene and extinguished the fire.

An unknown number of parties sustained minor injuries in the accident.

All southbound lanes of Loop 202 at Elliot Road were initially closed, but the left lanes reopened later.
