Phoenix, AZ – Authorities are investigating to establish the cause of a multi-vehicle accident that sent one person to a hospital with major injuries on Wednesday morning in Phoenix.
A report by the Arizona Department of Public Safety indicates that the incident happened at around 9:00 a.m. July 15, on State Route 202 west of 32nd Street.
According to a preliminary investigation, three vehicles collided on State Route 202 West and the driver suspected to have caused the accident was partially ejected through the windshield of his vehicle.
The driver was rushed to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries. His identity was not released in the DPS report.
The occupants of the other two vehicles did not report any injuries following the collision.
SR 202 West was temporarily shut down as authorities investigated the crash and fire crews worked to clear the scene.
The exact circumstances that led up to the collision remained under investigation.
